MY GPS (Global Positioning System)
During this journey, I found myself getting lost and ending back on the same street. I thought I was too good to pull out a map or ask for help. Running out of gas and filling the tank back up and still ending back on the same street. It's like the neighborhood I was in was one big circle. Me being in this neighborhood, brought me down and built me up. This neighborhood stabbed me in the back, spit in my face, and dragged me across the pavement. This neighborhood turned my smiles into frowns, laughs into cries, and feelings into jokes. However, one day I woke up and told myself I'm ready to leave the neighborhood; so I drove to the Department store to buy a new television set. Walking through the electronics aisle, I saw a GPS (global positioning system) on the shelf which works as a digital map. The saleswoman, said it would help me get to locations faster, without getting lost. Being that I was ready to leave the neighborhood, I plugged in my new GPS system and it took me out the circle I was use to driving in. After miles and miles of traveling, after all the pot holes I hit, After all the flat tires, and oil leaks, I ended up in this place that seem so perfect. I mean this place is beautiful inside out but the place didn't accept me into the community just yet. I have to prove that I'm a great citizen; loyal, respectful, confident, intelligent, hardworking, caring. Most importantly, I have to prove that I'm not here to tear this place apart but to make it better. After tons of effort and hard work, I can finally say I got my foot in the door. This place greeted me by saying "Welcome Home, Glad To Have You Apart of the Community."
