When we realize that many of the images and concepts in traditional "Religion" have been contrary (opposite) to the success of people of "Color", it becomes even more important why the "Study of God should not be the study of Religion".

For example: So many of the images associated with "Christianity" are reflective of European projections of themselves on the leading figures of the religion.

It has been rather comical (amusing) to see some African-Americans who converted to far Eastern Religions, attempt to look "appropriate" by trying to grow a singly ponytail with hair that such a style would not easily accommodate to. The same is true with the strong confusion of the practice of "Islam" with the traditional "Arab" culture and the perception that one must dress in traditional Arab desert dress, in order to be authentic in ones practice of the religion.

"We are spiritual-beings, living a human experience. The study of Religion is "not" the study of God. The study of God is science and history. Don't confuse religion with God."
